I remember vividly the faces of my classmates listening intently while I wondered why I was in classes with the "brainiacs". I became an RN and quickly rose from med-surg to Froedtert ED/TRAUMA and settled into Trauma-Surgery ICU. After our daughters graduated University and my husband died, I was able to travel as an ED/Trauma ICU RN throughout the US. Still not believing that I had the "right stuff", I received an offer from Yale-New Haven Medical Center!! If anyone gets the credit for this success it's Our Almighty Father. He blessed our birth family with His Faith and intention to do good throughout the world, wherever we find it. Michelle @50 yrs has been to Iraq, Afghanistan,Syria, Somalia, Rwanda, Libya and wherever she was needed in Africa. Michelle was in Kyiv Ukraine when President Biden called US citizens to return. Shortly after her return we were saddened to learn of Megan's death in Miami where she had been working with BLM and Emerge. Our large family has experienced the death of both parents, youngest sister Mary and middle brother Frank along with the youngest of our brood, Bob, moving to Scotland after serving in the Mediterranean. In my career I have been present at innumerable deaths. The death of our daughter Megan has been difficult, traumatic and unexpected. Once again Our Heavenly Father is ever present in our lives. Megan was a child who always encouraged us to move out of our comfort zone and co-exist with all people, bringing us to live in a very diverse neighborhood in MKE. We have been here for 30yrs and I don't miss the suburbs a bit. I'm sounding like a braggart. My life now is so very different from Oak Creek. Although I live alone now, my life is fullfilling and I am looking forward to the next calling.
